Chart of the collaboration between the G-BA and IQWiG

The Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) starts a consultation and commissions the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG). IQWiG formulates the scientific question, carries out research and evaluates the scientific material (studies). Based on the results of the research and evaluation, IQWiG makes a recommendation to the G-BA. As part of the ongoing consultation process, the G-BA checks the plausibility and evaluates the results. The G-BA then passes a resolution that is implemented in its directives.
